The Atlanta Falcons put on a rushing clinic in prime time, beating the Green Bay Packers 35-14 in Thursday Night Football behind three touchdown runs from running back Bijan Robinson.
Robinson takes over on the ground
Atlanta controlled the game from the start, finishing with 242 rushing yards on 41 attempts β an average of nearly 6 yards per carry. Robinson found the end zone three separate times, scoring on runs of 3, 7, and 2 yards, the last of which was followed by a successful two-point conversion pass from Michael Penix Jr. to Casey Blair to put the game away.
Penix delivers efficiently through the air
While the ground game did most of the heavy lifting, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was sharp when he did throw, completing 18 of 25 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown, good for a 101.4 passer rating. His longest completion of the night went 68 yards. Atlanta also controlled the clock, holding the ball for over 37 minutes compared to Green Bay’s 23.
Packers couldn’t find an answer
Green Bay actually out-passed Atlanta through the air, with quarterback Jordan Love throwing for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns on 28 completions. But the Packers managed just 17 rushing yards on 9 carries all game, and a blocked field goal in the second half added to their frustrations. Green Bay also lost the turnover battle, with Love throwing an interception that Atlanta converted into points.
The win improves Atlanta’s momentum heading into their next matchup, while Green Bay will look to bounce back after struggling to establish any consistent rushing attack against a stout Falcons front seven that recorded 12 quarterback hits on the night.
