NFL Week 6 Recap: Upsets, Blowouts, and a Giants-Commanders Tie

Week 6 delivered one of the stranger Sundays of the season, closing with an actual tie, a handful of lopsided blowouts, and a Monday night finale still to come.

A Tie in Washington

Washington and the Giants played to a 27-27 tie, a result that still catches casual fans off guard every time it happens. Ties remain one of the NFL’s quirkiest rules, a reminder that not every game ends with a winner even after overtime.

Blowouts Across the League

Several teams made their intentions clear with dominant performances. New England routed Las Vegas 45-17, Detroit demolished Arizona 45-21, and Green Bay shut down Chicago 31-7. Houston also handled Tennessee easily, winning 26-3 behind a defense that gave the Titans almost nothing all day.

Falcons Fall to Baltimore

Atlanta’s recent surge, including last week’s five-touchdown outburst from Bijan Robinson, hit a speed bump Sunday night as the Ravens edged the Falcons 30-23. It’s a reminder that even hot teams face tougher tests as the season progresses.

Close Games Worth Noting

Not every game was decided early. Jacksonville held off Philadelphia 19-17, the Jets edged Cleveland 17-12, and Pittsburgh took down Indianapolis 34-22 in a game that stayed competitive into the fourth quarter.

Monday Night Closes the Week

The Los Angeles Rams host Buffalo in tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup, with the Rams currently favored to close out Week 6. It’s a measuring-stick game for both teams heading into the back half of the season.
