October is a busy month for class action deadlines, with several no-proof settlements closing their claim windows over the next few weeks. Here’s what’s worth checking before the dates pass.
Flo Period Tracker: Closes October 15
Users of the Flo period-tracking app can file a claim as part of a $59.5 million privacy settlement without submitting any proof of use. The case alleged the app shared sensitive health data with third parties without adequate consent. The online deadline is 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on October 15, so this is the most time-sensitive one on the list.
Pork Price-Fixing: Closes October 29
Anyone who bought pork products in the U.S. over the relevant class period may be eligible for a share of a $117 million settlement resolving price-fixing allegations against major pork producers. No receipts are required, just a reasonable estimate of your purchases during the class period.
Bestway Above-Ground Pools: Closes October 30
Owners of certain Bestway above-ground pools can file a claim as part of a $15 million settlement. Instead of a receipt, the claim form asks for the pool’s brand, dimensions, and model or serial number, details most owners can find on the pool’s packaging or a manual.
A Few Others Worth a Quick Look
Beyond these three, several narrower settlements are also closing this month, including a VSL#3 probiotic false advertising case on October 20, and the long-running Lands’ End data breach settlement on October 22, which offers a flat $60 cash option with no documentation needed.
How to Actually File
Each settlement has its own official claims website, usually named directly after the case. Search for the settlement by name rather than clicking links from unsolicited emails or texts, and double check the URL matches the official case administrator before entering any personal information.
Why Bother for a Small Payout
Individual payouts on no-proof settlements are often modest, sometimes just a few dollars once the fund is divided among everyone who files. But filing usually takes only a few minutes, and unclaimed money doesn’t carry over to people who missed the deadline, it simply goes unclaimed.
